KAYA KALP Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC)

15 Bedded KAYA KALP DDAC (Drug De-Addiction Centre)- Run by – Young Action for Mass,( YAM) INDIA , Dhanbad, Jharkhand, Supported by – Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

The objective of the scheme is to provide preventive and rehabilitate services for the Drug Addicts, Alcoholics, Bhang, Ganja, Brown Sugar, IDU’s, other substance abusers in Dhanbad, Jharkhand of Jharkhand,. As per the needs assessment the drug abusers issues, problems, available services, require services, the strategy to work and expected outcome results are identified & planned. Organized Awareness, Sensitization, and Education Camps among the drug addicts/stakeholders in the target area by using all IEC materials. Conducted regular outreach, identified the drug addicts provided counseling at the field level, and referred to the center for OP and admission. As per the issue, a problem the drug Addicts were admitted, prepared case study, provided counseling, Treatment, therapy, and other support services as per the prescribed minimum standard project guidelines. The Qualified, Trained, Experienced and motivated staff are delivering the services as per the need of the beneficiary; project objective and rehabilitative all the inmates. Establish a good network & linkages with all the stakeholders for the effective delivery of services. From its inception 2018-19 around 450 addicts as inmates got benefit from the services. The project services are very useful to their Physical, Social, Psychological, Economical, Health, Legal, Vocational & Occupational rehabilitation. We are planning to expand the services to reach the unreached.

History
  • In 1992 , Shri Ravi Praksh {An Engineer turned Social worker} alongwith Sri Mahendra Golpelwar were volunteering for flood relief in Moahd area in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The condition was extremely pathetic.
  • Entire are was washed in flood. Dead bodies of children, and women were scatters in muddy waters. This scenario broke the heart of these two volunteers.
  • There itself they vowed to educate people about “How to protect their families, land, houses and crops from any extreme threats.Mr. Ravi Prakash resigned from his Engineering job and concentrated completely to fulfill his Vision.
  • As a result,Young Action for Mass,YAM India came into existence. It is registered under Society Registration of state government Jharkhand-Bihar . Since than YAM India has been putting all its efforts to educate and empower people in creating a Society which is empowered to tackle threats and adversities by its own.
  • Peace building and Volunteering are the two basic instruments used by YAM India for Transformation.

Young Action for Mass,(YAM)India is a rights based organization. The decades of experience in working with children have made us to realize that real change in a Child’s world can be brought only by educating and empowering the children and the community people about child rights.

When you sponsor a child through YAM India we make sure that the child enjoys all the rights mentioned in UN Convention of Child Rights.

YAM India is working actively with the Tribals in Jharkhand and Women Self Help Groups. The focus is given to systematize the structure of the forum. It helped in proper handling of the issue from micro level to macro level. A core committee of YAM India is monitoring the activities at village level. Village wise representatives come in these cluster meetings. Cluster level representatives bring all village level issues

(with cluster meetings minutes) in block level meetings. The block level core committee decides the strategy and give responsibility to respective issue based committee.
